Wulai Hot Springs
Wulai is well known as "Hot Spring Town", surrounded by spectacular mountains ranges. Hundred years ago, while the Atayal Tribe came to Wulai for hunting, they discovered waves of white smoke and hot water bubbling next to the lake and cried out "Urai", which means "hot spring" in Atayal language, and this shout became the origin of Wulai's name till now.

Wulai is famous for its precious hot spring resource, enriched aboriginal cultures and natural scenery. Spend a leisure day in Wulai strolling in the old street, enjoy some Taiya cuisine, admire the scenic waterfall by taking the cable car or retro train, or walking through the Lover's Path with the beloved.

Jinshan-Wanli Hot Springs
Jin Shan which previously named as "Jinbaoli", famed for its natural landscape, especially the unique Eight Views which only found in Jinshan. There is also Dharma Mountain, Juming Museum which is full of cultural and artistic ambience, as well as the nostalgic Jinbaoli Old Street with lots of famous and delicious local food.

This area was developed since Japanese occupation era, covering types of underwater spring, iron oxide spring, sulfur spring and carbonic acid spring. It is mainly divided into Jinbaoli hot spring, Huanggang hot spring, and Jiatou(Wanli) hot spring with various choice, is one of the most popular bathing spots for tourist who visit northern Taiwan. Enjoy the old fashioned times when travelling to Jinshan by bathing, strolling, eating and visiting museum!

Below are a list of bathing etiquette and tips that make your hot spring experience the best possible!

Do and Don't when bathing:
  1. Shower before entering to the hot spring pool.

  2. Patron with chronic diseases such as heart disease, lung disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and other circulatory system disorder shall get medical advice before bathing.

  3. Get hydrated before and after bathing.

  4. Enter the pools sequentially by immersing your feet first and then your half body, and the full body.

  5. Please leave the pool and notify the staff when feeling discomfort.

  6. Take some rest before bathing if you have taken a long distance trip, overfatigue or strenuous exercise.

  7. People with infectious diseases are not allowed to bath.

  8. Female who are in menstrual period are not allowed to bath.

  9. Pets are not allowed to enter to the pool area.

  10. Pregnant women, disabled person, elderly and children shall avoid bathing alone.

  11. Guests who are drunk, famished or full after eating are not recommended to bath.

  12. Take a break every 15 minutes when bathing, and maximum an hour in the pool area.

  13. Do not enter the steam room/sauna immediately after bathing.
